The Special Rapporteur also delivered the keynote speech at the first session of the open-ended intergovernmental working group on transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights, which is mandated with elaborating an international legally binding instrument, and took part in a two-day symposium, held at the University of Ottawa, with indigenous women leaders and their allies on the murders and disappearances of indigenous women and girls and to discuss a possible framework and structure for a national inquiry.
