Secondary education: Although there is no provision in the Lausanne Treaty concerning secondary education, four private minority high schools (two junior and two senior ones) plus two Koranic schools (medrese) operate in the cities of Xanthi and Komotini, capital cities of the Prefectures of Xanthi and Rhodopi respectively, where the Muslim minority is mainly situated.
