To them, as well as to their twentieth-century brothers and sisters in the Christian family, apply the words of Paul written to believers in Rome about eight years before the great conflagration: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God’s love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Heihin sekä heidän 20. vuosisadalla eläviin veljiinsä ja sisariinsa kristillisessä perheessä soveltuvat Paavalin Roomassa noin kahdeksan vuotta ennen suurta tulipaloa eläneille uskollisille kirjoittamat sanat: ”Sillä minä olen varma siitä, ettei kuolema eikä elämä, ei enkelit eikä henkivallat, ei nykyiset eikä tulevaiset, ei voimat, ei korkeus eikä syvyys, eikä mikään muu luotu voi meitä erottaa Jumalan rakkaudesta, joka on Kristuksessa Jeesuksessa, meidän Herrassamme.”jw2019 jw2019
