67 Secondly, the Commission observes that, according to the Italian version of Article 6 of Regulation No 99/63, it may refrain from taking further action on a complaint on the basis of the information and evidence "di cui dispone" [available to it], and not on the basis of that which it might obtain only after carrying out a protracted, complex and costly investigation; thirdly, it states that it is under a duty to ensure that regard is had to the public interest by proceeding primarily against conduct which, by reason of its extent, seriousness and duration, constitutes very serious interference with untrammelled competition.
