The Cornish Ordinalia manuscript, which consists of three plays, begins with the Latin note "Here begins the Ordinale of the Origin of the world." An Ordinale was a book of rules and regulations for conducting church services - a bit like stage directions. The first play starts with a speech in Cornish from 'Deus Pater', Latin for God the Father.
