I’d been accidentally trapped for a time as a primary school kid and I didn’t want to give Josef Mengele any further ideas about how to make me suffer. “Hey doctor,” I said. “Can we talk about this one first? I think that we might need to review procedure so that I don’t mess it up on you.” Time for another slimy smile. (Yuck encore.) There’s no dignity in bein’ a zombie, is there?” Gately’s temper was rising but he kept it in check. “No, sir. I still say you’re wrong. So when it is all over, that person is in a worse state than he was at the beginning.
