The Russian answer to Shakespeare is Pushkin, whose works have been translated into all major languages and include the ode to his adopted city, which was quoted at the outset.

This is the case with the skylark, as shown by the poet Shelley in his beautiful Ode to a Skylark, in which he speaks of this blithe spirit soaring high and pouring forth its heart in profuse strains of unpremeditated art.
