In its resolution P6_TA-PROV(2005)0360 the European Parliament stated that it considered the first phase to be an ‘initial, though insufficient and inadequate, step’ and thus called on the Commission, inter alia, to put a stop, once and for all, to the illegal use in the United States of Community designations protected by Community legislation and to certain oenological practices allowed in the US, in order to protect the efforts made by Community producers to maintain quality and avoid unfair competition and prevent imbalances on the market for our typical wines, such as Jerez (sherry) or Malaga.not-set not-set
