Dr. Freeman is an assistant professor and researcher in the School of Nursing at the University of Northern British Columbia. In the spirit of Lha’hutit’en, which in the Carrier language means ‘we work together, we help one another,’ they partnered with members of the Nak’azdli people, community organizations such as the Nak’azdli Health Centre, the Nak’albun School and the Nak’azdli Elder Society, as well as academic colleagues from UNBC, Simon Fraser University and the University of Waterloo.
