Naime, ugledni hrvatski publicist, jezikoslovac, povjesničar i prirodoslovac slovačkoga podrijetla, akademik Bogoslav Šulek (Subotište u Slovačkoj, 1816. ‒ Zagreb, 1895.), zaslužan je za obogaćenje hrvatskoga jezika mnoštvom tada novotvorenih riječi, fraza i znanstvenoga nazivlja.
