Già nel 1835 Luigi Granata professore di fisica, chimica ed agronomia, nel suo “Economia rustica per il Regno di Napoli” dice della risciola o rossola: “di grano piccolo, biondo rossiccio, di farina bionda eccellente per pane, in terreni leggeri, montuosi e freddi” e ancora, nel descrivere una tipica rotazione del periodo: “anno I maggese con frumentone, o legumi o pomi di terra, II frumento risciola, III segala”.
In 1835 Luigi Granta, a professor of physics, chemistry and agronomy, wrote of the Rosciola in the “Rustic Economy for the Kingdom of Naples”: “a small grain, reddish blond, excellent for bread, in light, mountainous, cold terrain,” and in describing a typical crop rotation of the time, “first year fallow with wheat, beans or potatoes, second year Rosciola, third year rye”.
