사도 ‘바울’과 그의 동료 ‘실라’는 투옥되어 있으며, 한 밤중에 지진이 일어나 모든 옥문이 열리고 그들의 매인 것이 풀렸다.
The apostle Paul and his companion Silas were imprisoned, when, in the middle of the night, they were miraculously freed by an earthquake that opened all the doors and loosened their bonds.

기록을 보면 밤중에 그들이 기도하고 노래로 하나님을 찬양하고 있을 때에 갑자기 지진이 일어나서 옥문이 열리고 죄수들이 풀려났읍니다.
The account tells us that in the middle of the night, as they were praying and praising God with song, suddenly a great earthquake occurred, breaking open the jail doors and loosing the prisoners.

18 또 이렇게 되었나니 저가 바야흐로 그를 사형에 처하려 하였을 때, 슐의 아들들이 밤에 노아의 집에 숨어 들어가 저를 죽이고, 옥문을 부수고 그 아버지를 이끌어내어, 그를 그 왕국의 자기 보좌에 앉혔더라.
18 And it came to pass as he was about to put him to death, the sons of Shule crept into the house of Noah by night and slew him, and broke down the door of the prison and brought out their father, and placed him upon his throne in his own kingdom.

비록 그렇다 하더라도 “주[여호와]의 사자가 밤에 옥문을 열고 끌어 내어 가로되 가서 성전에 서서 이 생명의 말씀을 다 백성에게 말하라”는 일이 일어 났을 때에 그들은 얼마나 놀랐겠읍니까!
Even so, how startling it must have been when “during the night Jehovah’s angel opened the doors of the prison, brought them out and said: ‘Be on your way, and, having taken a stand in the temple, keep on speaking to the people all the sayings about this life’”!

옥문 열려라 명하니–

그러나 1919년 3월에 ‘워치 타워 협회’의 여덟 명의 대표자들에게 옥문은 열리지 않을 수 없었으며, 그들은 보석으로 석방되었읍니다.
But in March of 1919 the prison doors were forced open to the eight representatives of the Watch Tower Society, and out they came on bail.

And a jailer, who patrolled the gate of the prison where Paul and Silas were confined, heard about Jesus. Immediately he and his family came to believe in Jesus, and were baptized (Acts 16:25-33).
