De Zwitserse Bondstaat (hierna: Zwitserland) neemt sinds 1979 deel aan het thematisch gebied kernfusie van de kaderprogramma's van Euratom op grond van de Overeenkomst van 1978 tot samenwerking tussen de Europese Gemeenschap voor Atoomenergie en de Zwitserse Bondsstaat op het gebied van de beheerste thermonucleaire kernversmelting en de plasmafysica 2 .
