De Commissie is ervan op de hoogte gebracht dat in 2009 twee inbreukrapporten zijn opgesteld in de regio Nord-Pas de Calais na het neerschieten van twee lepelaars (Platalea leucorodia), een soort die beschermd is uit hoofde van Richtlijn 2009/147/EG(1) (de „vogellrichtlijn”, die richtlijn 79/409/EEG(2) vervangt).
The Commission was informed that two infringement reports were drawn up in Nord-Pas de Calais in 2009 following the shooting of two Spoonbills (Platalea leucorodia), a species which is protected under Directive 2009/147/EC(1) (‘Birds Directive’, repealing Directive 79/409/EEC(2)).

As a consequence of the Honourable Member's written question E-1186/96 ((OJ C 356, 25.11.1996. )) on the subject of endangered spoonbills (platalea leucorodia) in Wünseradiel, the Commission has asked the Dutch authorities for information about the intended project (Makkum-Noord plan) by the municipality of Wünseradiel, which includes a break in the IJsselmeer dyke and the digging of a channel in the nature area 'the Makkumer Noordwaard'.
