De voorgestelde verordening, die deel uitmaakt van vier voorstellen die ten doel hebben de communautaire regelgeving inzake voedselverbeteraars te hervormen, strekt ertoe de communautaire regeling inzake aroma's en bepaalde voedselingrediënten met aromatiserende eigenschappen te actualiseren in het licht van de technologische en wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen op dit gebied (5) en van de ontwikkelingen van de communautaire levensmiddelenwetgeving, in het bijzonder de nieuwe wetgeving inzake voedselveiligheid (6).
The aim of the proposed Regulation, as part of four proposals designed to overhaul the Community's rules on food improvement agents, is to update the Community rules on flavourings and certain food ingredients with flavouring properties, taking into account the technological and scientific developments in this area (5) as well as the developments in food legislation in the European Community, in particular, the new legislation on food safety (6).
