De beschermde geografische aanduiding “Var” is voorbehouden aan stille wijnen en mousserende kwaliteitswijnen, rood, rosé en wit.

De beschermde geografische aanduiding “Var” zou dus slaan op stille wijnen die gekoppeld zijn aan mousserende wijnen met een relatief vergelijkbaar organoleptisch profiel.
Thus the ‘Var’ protected geographical indication would identify still wines associated with sparkling wines with relatively similar organoleptic profiles.
