Is the Commission aware that the processes of mining, transporting and refining uranium ore and final disposal of waste use fossil energy, particularly in the form of oil, more of which is required, the lower the concentration of usable uranium in the ore, so that the possible contribution of nuclear power to limiting carbon dioxide emissions in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol on climate change is smaller than might have been anticipated, while moreover uranium enrichment uses halogens — chlorine and fluorine compounds — and enormous quantities of cooling water are needed for electricity generation?not-set not-set
