Knyszyn-urskogen är en vandringsväg för varg, lodjur och europeisk bison och en livsmiljö för fåglar som mindre skrikörn och spillkråka, vilka alla är sällsynta arter som är strikt skyddade enligt EU-lagstiftningen.
