وأبلغ الاجتماع أيضا بأنه، استجابة للدعوة الواردة في قرار الجمعية العامة 58/240، سيعقد الأمين العام للمنظمة البحرية الدولية اجتماعا استشاريا مخصصا مشتركا بين الوكالات يومي 7 و 8 تموز/يوليه 2005 يشارك فيها ممثلو شعبة شؤون المحيطات وقانون البحار ومنظمة الأغذية والزراعة ومنظمة العمل الدولية ومؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتجارة والتنمية ومنظمة التعاون والتنمية في الميدان الاقتصادي والمنظمة البحرية الدولية، لدراسة وإيضاح دور ”الصلة الحقيقية“ فيما يتعلق بواجب دول العلم ممارسة مراقبة فعالة على السفن التي تحمل أعلامها، بما فيها سفن الصيد.

He also informed the meeting that, in response to the invitation contained in General Assembly resolution 58/240, the Secretary-General of IMO would convene an ad hoc inter-agency consultative meeting from 7 to 8 July 2005 comprising representatives of the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, FAO, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and IMO to study, examine and clarify the role of the “genuine link” in relation to the duty of flag States to exercise effective control over ships flying their flags, including fishing vessels.

Asimismo comunicó a la reunión que, en respuesta a la invitación formulada por la Asamblea General en su resolución 58/240, el Secretario General de la OMI convocaría una reunión consultiva interinstitucional ad hoc, que se realizará los días 7 y 8 de julio de 2005, con la asistencia de representantes de la División de Asuntos Oceánicos y del Derecho del Mar, la FAO, la Organización Internacional del Trabajo (OIT), la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre Comercio y Desarrollo (UNCTAD), la Organización de Cooperación y Desarrollo Económicos (OCDE) y la OMI, con el fin de estudiar, examinar y aclarar la función de la “relación auténtica” en lo tocante al deber que incumbe a los Estados del pabellón de ejercer un control eficaz sobre los buques que enarbolan su pabellón, incluidos los pesqueros.

Il a également informé la réunion qu’en réponse à l’invitation formulée dans la résolution 58/240 de l’Assemblée générale, le Secrétaire général de l’OMI organiserait une réunion consultative spéciale interinstitutions les 7 et 8 juillet 2005 à l’intention des représentants de la Division des affaires maritimes et du droit de la mer, de la FAO, de l’Organisation internationale du Travail, de la Conférence des Nations Unies sur le commerce et le développement, de l’Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques, et de l’OMI pour étudier, analyser et clarifier le rôle du « lien véritable » au sujet du devoir des États du pavillon d’exercer un contrôle effectif sur les navires auxquels ils attribuent leur nationalité, y compris les navires de pêche.
