Die Spargelstangen müssen von weißer Farbe sein, ganz, von frischem Aussehen und Geruch, gesund, frei von Schäden durch Nagetiere und Insekten, praktisch frei von Quetschungen, sauber, frei von äußerer Feuchtigkeit, nach etwaiger Waschung oder Kühlung mit kaltem Wasser ausreichend getrocknet sowie frei von Fremdgeruch und -geschmack.

The shoots must be completely white. They must also be whole, with a fresh, healthy appearance and aroma, free of rodent or insect damage, practically free of bruising, clean, free of external moisture, i.e. adequately ‘dried’ if they have been washed or cooled with cold water, and free of any foreign smell and/or taste; the shoots must not be hollow, split, peeled or broken.

Los turiones deben ser totalmente blancos, enteros, de aspecto y olor frescos, sanos, exentos de daños causados por roedores o insectos, prácticamente exentos de magulladuras, limpios, sin humedad exterior, es decir, suficientemente secos después de un eventual lavado o refrigeración con agua fría, exentos de olores o sabores extraños; los turiones no deben presentarse huecos, rajados, pelados ni rotos.
