For there are not lacking among the clergy those who adapt themselves according to their bent to works of more apparent than real solidity - but not so numerous perhaps are those who, after the example of Christ, take to themselves the words of the Prophet: "The Spirit of the Lord hath anointed me, hath sent me to evangelize the poor, to heal the contrite of heart, to announce freedom to the captive, and sight to the blind" (Luke iv., 18-19).

Il n'en manque pas, en effet, dans le clergé, qui, cédant à des goûts personnels, dépensent leur activité en des choses d'une utilité plus apparente que réelle; tandis que moins nombreux peut-être sont ceux qui, à l'exemple du Christ, prennent pour eux-mêmes les paroles du Prophète : "L'esprit du Seigneur m'a donné l'onction, il m'a envoyé évangéliser les pauvres, guérir ceux qui ont le coeur brisé, annoncer aux captifs la délivrance et la lumière aux aveugles" (33).

Infatti non mancano tra il clero coloro che, seguendo le proprie inclinazioni, si dedicano ad attività più apparenti che di concreta utilità: ma forse non sono molti coloro che, sull’esempio di Cristo, fanno proprio il detto del Profeta: “Lo spirito del Signore... mi ha consacrato con l’unzione, e mi ha mandato ad evangelizzare i poveri, a sanare gli afflitti, ad annunciare la liberazione ai prigionieri e la vista ai ciechi” [33].
