Sales of foreign affiliates have grown faster than world exports of goods and services, and the ratio of the volume of world FDI stocks to world gross domestic product (GDP) has grown twice as fast as the ratio of world imports and exports to world GDP, which suggests that the expansion of international production has deepened the interdependence of the world economy beyond that achieved by international trade alone.

Объем продаж зарубежных филиалов увеличивается более высокими темпами, чем объем мирового экспорта товаров и услуг, а показатель отношения общемирового объема прямых иностранных инвестиций к общемировому валовому внутреннему продукту (ВВП) увеличивается темпами, в два раза превышающими темпы роста показателя отношения объема мирового импорта и экспорта к объему мирового ВВП, что указывает на то, что расширение международного производства углубило взаимозависимость мировой экономики в большей степени, чем это смогла обеспечить одна лишь международная торговля.
