Mens han uddyber sit tema, „Josua fører Israel ind i det forjættede land“, mindes vi nogle af de punkter der blev fremhævet i forelæsningen om ubetinget tro og lydighed, og Josuas bog bliver levende for os idet vi for vort indre blik ser Guds folk tillidsfuldt og trøstigt vandre gennem Jordanflodens mirakuløst adskilte vande, og derpå hellige sig ved at lade sig omskære inden for dets nye fædrelands grænser.

As he plunges into his theme, “Joshua leads the nation of Israel into the Promised Land,” we can to mind some of the points driven home in the Instruction Talk on implicit faith and obedience, and the book of Joshua comes alive as we see in our mind’s eye a confident and trusting people of God walk dry shod through the miraculously parted waters of the Jordan River and then sanctify themselves by circumcision within the borders of their new homeland.
