وأبرمت الأمم المتحدة وحكومة غواتيمالا اتفاقا جديدا من نوعه لإنشاء لجنة تُعنى بالتحري عن الجماعات غير المشروعة والتنظيمات الأمنية السرية، يلزم الحكومة بإجراء تغييرات تشريعية وغير تشريعية لتتمكن من مكافحة الجريمة المنظمة مكافحة فعالة.

A pioneer agreement was signed by the United Nations and the Government of Guatemala for the establishment of a commission for the investigation of illegal groups and clandestine security organizations, which requires the Government to make legislative and other changes to enable it to fight effectively against transnational organized crime.

Las Naciones Unidas y el Gobierno de Guatemala han firmado un acuerdo innovador, en el que se prevé la creación de una comisión para la investigación de cuerpos ilegales y aparatos clandestinos de seguridad y la introducción de reformas legislativas y de otra índole por el Gobierno para posibilitar la lucha eficaz contra la delincuencia organizada transnacional.
