Under article 74 of the Criminal Code, “any parent who, by his or her flagrant misconduct, laziness, gross behaviour or drunkenness, has seriously jeopardized the health, morals or education of his or her children or those living in his or her home shall be liable to one year’s imprisonment or a fine of between CFAF 10,000 and CFAF 100,000”.

En efecto, el artículo 74 del CódigoPenal dispone que "serán penados con prisión de un mes a un año o multa de 10.000 a 100.000 francos CFA los padres que, a causa de su notoria mala conducta, pereza, malos modales o ebriedad, pongan gravemente en peligro la salud, la moral o la educación de sus hijos u otros niños que vivan en su hogar".

En effet l’article 74 du Code pénal dispose que «sera puni d’un mois à un an d’emprisonnement ou d’une amende de 10 000 à 100 000 francs CFA tout parent qui, par son inconduite notoire, sa paresse, sa grossièreté ou son ivrognerie, aura compromis gravement la santé, la moralité ou l’éducation de ses enfants ou de ceux vivant à son foyer».

В статье 74 Уголовного кодекса предусматривается, что "родители, которые вследствие своего достоверно установленного недостойного поведения, лености, грубости или пьянства подвергают серьезном риску здоровье, нравственность или образование своих или проживающих с ними детей, подлежат наказанию в виде одного года лишения свободы или уплаты штрафа в размере от 10 000 до 100 000 франков КФА".
