Naturally, art historians have a couple of theories why she rejected them. One has to do with the fact that the architecture of the pavilion was decidedly classical by an Architect named Ledoux and that these Rococo paintings wouldn't have fit within the classically inspired architecture and the classically inspired sculpture.
