With the agreement signed between APS and PSA Sines, this terminal will be the target of an expansion plan that will provide the infrastructure with a quay front of 1,950 meters (currently 1,040 meters), divided into a front of 1,750 meters and another one of 200 meters, allowing the simultaneous docking of four of the latest generation containerships and a feeder ship; the installation of 9 more “super post-panamax” cranes (the total will become 19), 30 park gantries and transport equipment; the expansion of the storage area from the current 42 to 60 hectares; and the increase in capacity from the current 2.3 million to 4.1 M TEU

Con lo acuerdo firmado entre APS y PSA Sines, esta terminal será el objeto de un plan de expansión que proporcionará a la infraestructura una frente de muelle de 1.950 metros (actualmente 1.040 metros), dividido en una frente de 1.750 metros y otra de 200 metros, permitiendo el atraque simultáneo de cuatro buques portacontenedores de última generación y un buque feeder; la instalación de 9 grúas "súper post-panamax" más (en total serán 19), 30 pórticos de parque y equipos de transporte; la expansión del área de almacenamiento de las actuales 42 a 60 hectáreas; y el aumento de la capacidad de los 2,3 millones actuales a 4,1 millones de TEU.
