পেছনের ডানাজোড়া পরিবর্তিত হয়ে ভারসাম্যরক্ষক হলটেয়ার উপাঙ্গে রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশে সাধারণ মাছি প্রজাতির মধ্যে আছে ঘরের মাছি , ছোট মাছি , দংশনকারী মাছি , নীলমাছি বা ব্লোফ্লাই , গ্রীনবটল ফ্লাই , ফ্লেশফ্লাই ইত্যাদি।

The hind pairs are reduced to knobbed balancing organ called halteres. In Bangladesh the common indoor fly species include the housefly (Musca domestica), the lesser housefly (Fannia canicularis), the biting housefly or stable fly (Stomoxys), the blue bottles or blow flies (Calliphora), the green bottles (Lucilia), and the flesh flies (Sarcophaga).
