Treatment: once the general surgery team has removed the areas that contained the tumor or that may contain it, the surgical field is examined by both the radiotherapeutic and radiophysic oncology teams. They determine the most suitable applicator (depending on the diameter and bevel) and the tissue depth that must be treated, as well as selecting the electron energy. The patient is taken in the same operating system and under strict aseptic conditions to the treatment unit where they will receive the radiotherapy treatment.

Fase de aplicación del tratamiento: Una vez que el equipo de cirugía general ha extirpado las regiones que contienen tumor, o que tienen riesgo de contenerlo, se evalúa el campo quirúrgico de forma conjunta con el equipo de oncología radioterápica y radiofísica y se determina el tipo de aplicador a utilizar (diámetro y bisel más adecuado) y se calcula la profundidad de tejido que ha de ser tratado, eligiendo así la energía de los electrones que se van a utilizar. El paciente es trasladado en la misma mesa quirúrgica y con las máximas condiciones de asepsia a la unida de tratamiento donde se administra la radioterapia.
