In 2011, Calmécac – named after the schools attended by the children of the nobility in the Aztec empire – set up a water school in the city of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero, 150 km south of Mexico City. Outreach workers from 12 surrounding municipalities are active in the school.

La organización tomó el nombre de los centros de formación de la antigua nobleza azteca y en 2011 instaló una escuela del agua en la ciudad de Taxco, en el estado de Guerrero y a 152 kilómetros al sur de Ciudad de México, con la participación de promotores sociales de 12 municipios circunvecinos.
