In 1927 Egas Moniz, professor of neurology in Lisbon and Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine winner in 1949, introduced cerebral angiography, whereby both normal and abnormal blood vessels in and around the brain could be visualized with great accuracy.

1927-ben, Lisszabonban, Egas Moniz, neurológus professzor, aki később 1949-ben orvostudományi Nobel-díjat is kapott, bevezette az agyi érfestéses (angiográfiai) eljárást, mely által nagy pontossággal láthatóvá váltak mind a normális, mind az abnormális véredények az agyban és környékén.
