The drive comprises a bistable electromagnet (1) consisting of an immovable yoke part (2) with switch-on (3) and switch-off (4) coils arranged therein and at least one permanent magnet (5) and a movable yoke part (6) capable of connection to an actuating mechanism, and a device for controlling the bistable electromagnet, said device being capable of simultaneously connecting the windings of the coils (3) and (4) to at least one current source.
