The Islamic Republic of Iran has only one Inmarsat Coast Earth Station near Tehran, which provides services to a fleet of ship- and land-portable terminals of standards A and C. TCI has also recently signed an agreement with the ICO organization, an offspring of Inmarsat, to invest and provide mobile satellite service in the region
