In accordance with the method and apparatus for generating a partial vibration and moving vibration waves in a device having at least two vibration units as proposed by the present invention, information on the location where a partial vibration event occurred or motion trajectory information of a moving vibration wave event, is used to control respective drive input signals of at least two vibration units that are provided to the device.
