In Fulda wurde von den Franz Carl Nüdling Basaltwerken ein Pflasterstein entwickelt, der mit Hilfe von Titandioxid die Luft von Autoabgasen „befreit“; ähnliche Pflastersteine, aber auch Kacheln sind in Japan entlang von KfZ-Verkehrswegen schon im Einsatz.

In the German town of Fulda, Franz Carl Nüdling Basaltwerke has developed paving stones which by means of titanium dioxide can “free” the air from exhaust emissions. Similar paving stones and tiles are used already in Japan along the traffic routes.
