The invention relates to a relay, especially a starting relay (10) for internal combustion engines, the connecting terminals thereof for the switching contact and the excitation winding of the relay being fixed in a switch cover (11) of the relay. The connecting terminal (50) of the excitation winding is embodied as a plug-in connection.
