Although Schumacher's pass took place after the Safety Car line, the German's move is deemed to have broken regulation 40.13 in the international sporting code, which states that - when the Safety Car has been in control of the race on the final lap - it will return to the pit lane before the start/finish straight and no overtaking is allowed before the end of the Grand Prix.
