It is clear by now that the polls indicate that the crisis of the monarchy in Spain does not only respond to a circumstantial situation (the successive scandals over the past years), but also to something much more serious and deeper, the generational detachment of young people who did not live the political transition and do not recognise the role repeatedly attributed to Juan Carlos in the advent of democracy.

Está ya muy arraigada la constancia de que los datos ponen de manifiesto que la crisis de la monarquía en España no responde solamente a una circunstancia coyuntural (sus sucesivos escándalos a lo largo de estos últimos años), sino a algo mucho más grave y profundo, el desapego generacional de los jóvenes que no vivieron la transición política y no reconocen a Juan Carlos el papel que repetidamente se le atribuye en el advenimiento de la democracia.
