The following are the three main objectives: Firstly, to quantify the prescriptions for antidepressants issued by doctors, classified by drug class and practitioner group; secondly, to describe the characteristics of individual antidepressant therapies on the basis of the type and frequency of drug switching, combination therapy and dose variation (augmentation, polypharmacy); and thirdly, to use selected quality indicators to compare prescription practice and compliance with guidelines.
