Equally, section 13(1) of the Law of the Child Act in Tanzania Mainland also prohibits a child to be subjected to the same treatment: “A person shall not subject a child to torture, or other cruel, inhuman punishment or degrading treatment including any cultural practice which dehumanizes or is injurious to the physical and mental well-being of a child.”

De igual manera, el párrafo 1) del artículo 13 de la Ley de la Infancia, en Tanzanía continental, también prohíbe que se someta a un niño a un trato similar: "Ninguna persona someterá a un niño a torturas, ni a cualquier otro castigo cruel o inhumano o trato degradante, comprendida cualquier práctica cultural que lo deshumanice o resulte perjudicial para el bienestar físico o mental del niño".

De même, la section 13.1 de la loi relative aux enfants adoptée en Tanzanie continentale interdit de soumettre un enfant à un tel traitement: «Personne ne pourra soumettre un enfant à la torture ou autre peine ou traitement cruels, inhumains ou dégradants, y compris aucune pratique culturelle qui déshumanise ou est préjudiciable au bien-être physique ou mental de l’enfant.»
