La Iglesia de la Ermita del Río está ubicada en el centro de la ciudad de Cali, sobre la avenida Colombia al costado oeste del Río Cali de allí su nombre, la actual ermita fue construida en reemplazo de la capilla que existía desde 1602 y fue destruida por el terremoto que azoto la ciudad en 1787, en donde sobrevivió la figura del Señor de la Caña, que desde entonces ha sido conservada en el altar mayo y es de Santiago de Cali, su interior decorado con mármoles de Carrara, los altares, el comulgatorio y el pulpito calado también al estilo gótico fueron trabajados por el escultor Alideo Tazzioli quien también esculpió el Cristo Rey en el cerro los cristales.
