Some of the workshops also dealt with international cooperation against transnational organized crime and corruption, including two ministerial-level conferences organized by the Division for Operations in cooperation with the Branch: the Ministerial Conference on Illicit Drug Trafficking, Transnational Organized Crime and Terrorism as Challenges for Security and Development in Central America, held in Managua on 23 and 24 June and attended by participants from nine Central American countries; and the Ministerial Conference on Illicit Drug Trafficking, Transnational Organized Crime and Terrorism as Challenges for Security and Development in the Caribbean, held in Santo Domingo from 17 to 20 February and attended by participants from 17 Caribbean countries.
