Für dieBlutgerinnung als Gesamtfunktion gilt die Feststellung, daß normales Neugeborenenblut nicht langsamer, sondern eher schneller als Erwachsenenblut gerinnt: es besteht eine Normo- bzw. Hypercoagulämie.

As far as blood clotting as a whole is concerned, one may state that blood of normal newborns is not clotting more slowly but rather more rapidly than adult blood: physiologically, there is a normal coagulation or even hypercoagulation in healthy newborn infants.
