The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concluded that, in the absence of information on the presence or absence of 3-7 ring polycyclic aromatic compounds (3‐7 PAC), the detection of mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) in food should be considered of potential concern for human health(1).

De Europese Autoriteit voor voedselveiligheid (EFSA) heeft geconcludeerd dat, bij gebrek aan informatie over de aan‐ of afwezigheid van polycyclische aromatische verbindingen met 3-7 ringen (3‐7 PAC), de vaststelling van aromatische koolwaterstoffen uit minerale oliën (mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons, MOAH) in levensmiddelen, als mogelijk zorgwekkend voor de gezondheid van de mens moet worden beschouwd(1).
