In a statement, Fr. Santiago Salas, spokesperson of the National Democratic Front-Eastern Visayas (NDF-EV) assailed Arned Forces chief of staff Gen. Eduardo Oban and 8th ID chief Gen. Mario Chan for gloating that they had gained the support of the church, the local government and other sectors for Oplan Bayanihan. The NDF-EV called on the Catholic Church and other sectors to be critical and cautious to prevent them from falling into the military's trap and be taken in by its bloody campaign against the people of Eastern Visayas.
