Abstract Malnutrition in childhood increases the risk of death in adulthood affecting health status for life therefore micronutrients such as iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) are vital for proper nutrition participating in the growth and proper development of children anthropometric therefore the aim of this study was to relate the anthropometric nutritional status with plasma levels of iron, copper and zinc in preschool children of Añú ethnic, from Sinamaica’s Lagoon.

La malnutrición en la niñez incrementa el riesgo de muerte en la adultez afectando al estado de salud de por vida por lo que micronutrientes como el hierro (Fe), cobre (Cu) y zinc (Zn) son de vital importancia para una nutrición adecuada, participando en el crecimiento y desarrollo antropométrico adecuado de los niños, por lo tanto el objetivo de este estudio fue relacionar el estado nutricional antropométrico con los niveles plasmáticos de hierro, cobre y zinc en niños en edad preescolar de la etnia Añú en la Laguna de Sinamaica.
