Here we have used the kindling model to investigate mechanisms important for the development of hyperexcitability, with particular emphasis on the role of neurotrophic factors and hippocampal synaptic reorganization.

I denna avhandling har vi använt kindlingmodellen för att studera olika mekanismer för utveckling av ökad retbarhet och med fokus på en grupp nervväxtfaktorer, de s. k. neurotrofinerna, samt på omorganisering av nervcellskontakter i den del av det limbiska systemet som kallas gyrus dentatus.
