وأثناء مرحلة بدء عمل بعثة الأمم المتحدة في ليبريا، قدم موظفو بعثة الأمم المتحدة في سيراليون العاملون في إطار المهام قصيرة الأجل المساعدة لبعثة الأمم المتحدة في ليبريا في مجالات متعددة منها برامج نزع السلاح والتسريح وإعادة الإدماج وتطوير البنى التحتية وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات ونظم المعلومات الجغرافية والهندسة والنقل والإمداد ومراقبة الحركة وموظفي الطيران.

During the start-up phase of UNMIL, UNAMSIL staff on short-term assignments also assisted UNMIL in several areas, including the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration programme and infrastructure development, information technology and communications, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, transport, supply, movement control and aviation staff.
