According to the method using a PEG oligomer as a carrier and controlling a molecular structure of a product of the present invention, it is possible to produce water-soluble sterol derivatives which are soluble in high concentrations of about 3.0 weight percent or more based on the weight of sterol in water, safe for human use and useful for water-soluble foods or medicine materials, and have a cholesterol-lowering effect.

Selon le procédé, en utilisant un oligomère de PEG en tant que support et en contrôlant la structure moléculaire d'un produit de la présente invention, il est possible de produire des dérivés de stérol hydrosolubles qui sont solubles à des concentrations élevées d'environ 3,0 pour cent en poids ou plus sur la base du poids de stérol dans de l'eau, sûrs pour l'utilisation chez les humains et utiles pour des aliments hydrosolubles ou des matériaux médicinaux, et ont un effet hypocholestérolémiant.
