Besides unlocking the phone, the scanner can also be used to accept incoming calls, record video and shoot photos, dismiss alarms or call up the notifications area. This latter function is really cool, because it doesn't require you to make an awkward reach to the top of the screen to pull down the notifications shade. Una vez registrada la huella dactilar es posible utilizar el sensor para desbloquear la pantalla, pero también para aceptar llamadas, tomar fotos, grabar vídeo, apagar la alarma y visualizar el panel de notificaciones. Para esta última función solo hay que pasar el dedo de arriba hacia abajo sobre el sensor para que el teléfono muestre notificaciones, y de un lado a otro para eliminarlas.
